No Mike, I'm not related to the Yanceys, just enjoyed listening to him talk
about growing up here. I live on Pleasant Ridge/Slow Go Rd, right across
from the cemetery. Your house is at the end of the road on the other side
of the highway? I've never been any further down that road than Grimmett's.
Thank you for telling me where the school was. I had thought it must have
been close to the Carpenter's house, but have never asked them about it.
There is an old storm shelter across Slow Go from them on someone else's
property, I had wondered if it went with the old school or if someone had a
house there at one time.
I remember when you were in school, but didn't know where you went from
there. Were you in Karen Gentry's class? I'm her aunt. I know your Mom
(lovely, sweet lady!) and Linda from the store, and of course Fred from
school. My boys are older than you, except one younger. We lived at Wideman
when the older boys were in school at Oxford.
Thank you for your response, and keep on with the memories.....I really
enjoy them!
Janice
