Well the James Hall makes the situation easier to research.
Do you know which Hall family he comes from? I find James and Nancy
in the following Census.

1850 Census Arkansas, Izard, Union James 39 KY, Nancy 30 AR, Sally 6
AR, Samuel 4 AR.

1860 Cenus Arkansas, Izard, Union James 50 KY, Nancy 37 AR, Samuel 14
AR, Eveline 13 AR, Mary 10 AR, James W. 7 AR, William G. 3 AR.

1870 Census Arkansas, Izard, Union James 64 KY, Nancy 44 AR, Samuel
21 AR, Green 15 AR.

I have not located them in 1880?
