I can. They were my great grandparents.

What would you like to know? Just the kids?

William, Lucy, Jackie Lee, Raymond, Maxine & Evelyn are the
only children we know of.
We aren't even sure about the Jackie Lee, only that she's
buried near Johnny Brooks, and Raymond Brooks Jr. in
Campbell Cemetery, so we are assuming she is her daughter.
It could be the "Mary Lee" that I have seen on some other
lists.

I have some letters written by Nora to her sister, that
indicate that she goes to visit her babies in TWO
cemeteries.
One being Campbell I'm sure, but not sure if the other would
be No Bottom, or the old Guion cemetery. In any case, the
stones
have not been found to my knowledge. Lucy is buried in
Campbell cemetery too as Lucy Smith (she married Everett
Smith, who is part of Bernie's Smith clan).

In any case, none of us, OR none of Nora's sisters kin knew
of Nora having more than 4 children. William is proven in
the census of course, and Jackie is assumed.

When Lucy died, that left granny and grandpa Brooks (Johnny
and Nora) to care for both of her children (Everett had
also died). That's the Earl and Catherine (actual spelling
Katherine) you see on the census living in their household.
When Johnny died in 1939, she took both kids about 1940 and
headed for Kansas where her sister and brother lived hoping
to make her home there. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown
to us, she was turned out, and she kept heading west to live
with her son Ray and his new Bride and young baby.
It was very difficult for them to give up their newleywed
and young parenthood years, however they did, and my
grandmother not only raised her own daughter, but also her
neice and nephew, and mother in law. Whew the stories I
could tell! Anyhow, when grandpa died in 1956, granny went
to live with her last living child, Maxine, in Colorado.
(she was married to the son of Lucien Richardson and Viola
Wallace, Edward "Ted" Richardson.....not the Ewell that some
think she was married to, that's a different Maxine)
Nora died of a stroke in 1959 in Pueblo, Colorado and is
buried there.


The other kids are noted below, however are unproven.

Roger,
Maybe you can tell me about the John W. Brooks and
Nora family #42 in the Guion, Izard, AR. 1930 Census. The
computer transcribes it John M. Brooks if you search for it
that way. I have never been able to figure out just who
their children were.
