Calico Rock Progress - Jun 28, 1956 - Services For Osby Dillard Held Tuesday

William Osby Dillard was born at Iuka, Arkansas on October 20, 1883. He
was united in marriage to Miss Amie Seay

of the Pleasant Grove community on September 13, 1904. To this union was
born two children: James Luther Dillard,

now living in Wenatchee, Wash., and Mrs Irene Pearl McClelland of Kansas
City, Mo.

Other than his widow and two children he is survived by a sister, Mrs
Mollie Russell of Calico Rock and six

grandchildren --- Mrs Donaly Ducker of Calico Rock, Mrs J. R. Knowles of
Mountain Home, J. L. Dillard of Wenatchee, Wash.,

brothers and one sister.

At an early age he joined the Spring Creek Methodist Church and later
moved his membership to the Iuka Methodist

Church where he was a trustee and church leader until his death. Many people
stated that if it had not been for his Christian

leadership the church might have not had the influence on the life of the
community that it has had. He was a member

of the school board for many years and up until his death. He was a member
of the Odd Fellows Lodge giving great

leadership to both the lodge and the school board.

He will be remembered and loved both far and near, by people in high
positions and by just the plain people who lived

around him.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 26 at 3 p.m. at the
Presbyterian Church at Pineville, Rev. Charles Casteel

of Calico Rock officiated. Burial was made at Pineville Cemetery under the
