November 20, 1942 - Mrs Smith Lancaster Dies at Home Near Dolph

Mrs Eliza Thrasher Lancaster, aged 62, died unexpectedly at her home near
Dolph, Saturday afternoon. She was thought to be in comparatively good
health until early Saturday morning when she became suddenly ill from an
attack in the nature of a stroke and from which she failed to rally.
Deceased was born and reared in this vicinity. She was married to Smith
Lancaster in 1900. She was a devout Christian and had been a member of the
Cumberland Presbyterian Church since she was 14 years of age. Surviving; are
her husband; four daughters, Mrs Zelma Hall of Rodney, Mrs Clemmie Sanders
of Dolph, Mrs Hazel Fields of Jumbo, Ark., and Mrs Ruth Howell of Okla., and
one son Pvt Elmer Lancaster of the Army, now a patient in Fitzsimmons
General Hospital, Denver, Colo. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. D. R.
Robertson of Mt. Olive, were held Tuesday afternoon. Interment was in
Wayland Arbor Cemetery.
