Calico Rock Progress - Dec 22, 1933 - Obituary
Emily Irene Clark was born near Melbourne, Izard County, Arkansas, July
16th, 1858. Here she grew to womanhood and was first married to Rev. C. L.
S. Jennings, who preceded her in death in 1900. To this union were born four
girls and two boys, all of whom survive her. Her second marriage was to
Allen Dillinger, who also preceded her in death in 1929.
She was converted early in life and lived a devoted Christian until she was
called to her reward Sunday morning, December 17th 1933, at the age of 75
years, 5 months and 1 day. She had no fear of death; but happy in a savor's
love, she fell asleep in Jesus.
She is survived by all of her children; Mrs G. F. McFadden, Mrs W. A.
Whitehead, W. O. Jennings all of Bexar, Arkansas; Mrs M. M. Ray of
Brockwell, Arkansas; Mrs O. D. Smith of Hackett, Arkansas and J. R. Jennings
of Calico Rock; two brothers, Joe and Willie and two sisters, Abba and
Jenney, a number of grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Y. Whitfield at Caney Springs, near
Sage, Arkansas, Monday, December 18th. There we left her body to await the
resurrection.
Dear Mother, we miss you. ----- Her son, J. R. Jennings
(it doesn't list the J. R. in the list of survivors) she's listed as a
Jennings, she and #1 are buried in Caney Springs Cemetery.
