Calico Rock Progress - Aug 12, 1949 - Mrs Burgess Dies Following Long
Illness
Mrs Margaret Burgess, life-long resident of this section, died at her home
at this place, Thursday morning, August 11, following a long illness.
She was born in Stone County. She was married to Alfred Burgess and the
greater part of her life was spent in and near Calico Rock. She was a devout
member of the Methodist Church, having united with Spring Creek church early
in life.
Surviving, are her husband; three brothers, Walter Cantrell of Oxford,
Charles Cantrell of Calico Rock and Herman Cantrell of Oregon; and six
sisters, Mrs Della Sullivan of Jamestown, Ark., Mrs Oma Wallace of Byers,
Okla., Mrs Nollie Kytle of Gorgy, Mrs Lella Dillard, Mrs Hattie Raby and Mrs
Pearl Dillard of Calico Rock.
Funeral services will be held at Spring Creek Church, this (Friday)
afternoon, services to be conducted by Rev. Luther K. Wilson of this place
and Rev. Luther K. Wilson of this place and Rev. W. T. Watson of Imboden.
Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery, under direction of the Roller
Funeral Service.
