Calico Rock Progress - Oct 19, 1951 - Wesley K. Forrest Dies Saturday
Following Long Illness

Wesley K. Forrest well known citizen of Calico Rock, died in a Little Rock
hospital, Saturday, Oct 13, following several months illness. He was 70
years of age.

Mrs Forrest was born at Violet Hill February 14, 1881. The greater part of
his life was spent in the vicinity of Violet hill. He moved to Calico Rock
seven years ago. He had served as justice of the peace of this township the
past few years.

Mr Forrest was one of the county's most highly respected citizens and his
passing is mourned by a host of relatives and friends. He united with the
Methodist Church at an early age and lived a devout Christian life. He was a
member of the Forrest Chapel Methodist Church.

He united in marriage to Lula Crutchfield October 4, 1905, who preceded him
in death by four years. Five children were born to this union, two sons
preceding him in death.

Survivors include one son, Sterling Forrest of Brockwell, two daughters, Mrs
W. O. Gilliland of Calico Rock and Mrs J. O. Buchanan of North Little Rock;
one sister, Mrs Rinda Hames of Brockwell, three brothers, Lee and Ludie
Forrest of Brockwell and Otis Forrest of Calico Rock; two grandsons, four
granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were held at Forrest Chapel Methodist Church Sunday
afternoon with Rev. Y. D. Whitehurst of Melbourne officiating. Burial was in
Forrest Chapel cemetery. The Crouch Funeral Service being in charge.

Active pall bearers were; Daroil Forrest, Etheridge Dillard, Billy Joe
Matthews, Clove Forrest, Carl Hames, Claud Jones. Honorary pall bearers
were: R. F. Wood, John C. Bunch, Rufe Hutchinson, Joe E. Matthews, J. H.
Matthews and Tom Dalrymple.
