Calico Rock Progress - Dec 12, 1930 - Obituary
Mrs Mary Emmaline Jennings, better known as Grandma Jennings was
born Jul 9, 1853 departed this life Dec 5, 1930. She was 77 years 4 months
and 26 days old.. She was the wife of the late Eli Jennings who passed to
his reward several years ago. Since his death she has made her home with her
only daughter Mrs John Richardson. Her daughter having died almost three
years ago Grandma stayed in the home and kept the house and mothered the
children until she to was called away. She was converted at the age of 13
and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. She was one of the charter members
of the Old Saints Rest Church at Jumbo. She was a faithful wife, a loving
mother and a grandmother. She leaves 8 grandchildren and other relatives to
mourn her death. She was laid to rest in the Spring Creek cemetery. Rev. M.
C. Burton conducted the funeral services.
