Calico Rock Progress - Nov 9, 1951 - Mrs Julia Ann Dixon Dies at Age of 90
Funeral services fro Mrs Julia Ann Dixon aged 90 who died at the
home of a daughter, Mrs Mattie Thrasher at Pauls Valley, Okla., November 1,
1951 were held at Trimble Campground Monday, with Rev. Y. Whitfield of
Pineville officiating. Burial was in the Trimble Campground cemetery, the
Fall Funeral Service being in charge.
Mrs Dixon spent practically all her life in Izard County but for
the past few years had made her home in Oklahoma.
She was married to William Rufus Dixon October 15, 1884. Her
husband preceded in death several years. Mrs Dixon united with the Methodist
Church earl in life and remained a faithful member until her death.
Surviving are three sons, Calvin Dixon of Stratford, Okla.,
Adlai Dixon of Wynnewood, Okla., and Rudolph Dixon of Calico Rock; three
daughters, Mrs Thrasher of Pauls Valley, Mrs Sallie Stone of Calico Rock and
Mrs Eunice Harris of Wild Cherry; thirty grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband and one daughter,
Gusta Mae.
