I was just looking at my grandmother's death certificate and it listes her father a Walter Sexton. I always hear him referrred to as Walter of Walt but looking at his death certificate his name is William Walter. My dad always reffer to his full name as Walter William. So death certificates arn't always accurate.

When my father died in 1991, my sister and I were there and the coroner asked for the names of his parents. Take into consideration that my father's father had died in 1924 when my father was a young child. I was born in 1955. His father was named Arthur Samuel Moore and when I was asked for the name of my father's father, my reply was "Sam Moore."

Call in stress, call in grief - why I gave the name of Sam Moore, I will never know to this day. He was never called Sam Moore, but Arthur Moore. I filed an amended death certificate when I realized the mistake.

Whomever it was that gave the information for the parents of James Harvey Sexton - were probably pulling for answers. They may have recalled the name of James Oscar Sexton (a brother) and Maxine Hytainer? One of James Harvey Sexton's brothers; William Samuel Sexton was married to a Nancy Matilda Hightower. Sounds to me like that might be the name that was pulled out of a grieving mind for the name of his mother?

Sooo.............I went looking in 1900 for Mahala - which for some reason, I had her as a Woodall by birth and Gene..........you are saying that she was a Pittman?

Anyway, in case this is of some help to anyone, here is Charlie Sexton and later with his wife; Hiley Langston. Does anyone know the story of Laura Green, enumerated in his 1910 household?
