Vera:
How do I get back issues of the Genealogy Society quarterly? I searched the
Melbourne, Calico Rock and Evening Shade newspapers last week in Little Rock
at the Arkansas History Commission and found nothing. So many pages missing
or just pieces. I was looking for an Obituary for Jefferson Davis Dixon, who
was appointed as postmaster Sept 1906, had a document on homestead
exemption in Oct 1906. This is my Mom's dad, who I've been told, died when
she was about four years old and she was born in 1902. Spent a day in Little
Rock, Batesville, Melbourne and Calico Rock - and found nothing on him. Did
meet a couple of cousins and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The Calico Rock
Library was closed on Friday, but the ladies at the Chamber of Commerce were
so helpful. Went to several cemeteries, missed the ticks, but the chiggers
found me!!BG
Any ideas on where to search for an Obit would be greatly appreciated.
