Don't know about oyster suppers in Izard County but my great grandfather Jim
Smith died from blood poisoning after being cut on the foot while pearling
in the White River near Norfork, Baxter County about 1902. I know they used
the shells for buttons but maybe there was something inside "good" to eat.
