Wasn't someone asking about this place not long ago?
Or did I dream that?
This is from the archives.

By 1850, Nancy French (now 72 years old) was living with her son, Thomas
J.French. He was listed in the U.S. Census at 31 years of age and married to
Adeline, who was born in Missouri. They had two children, William R. and James Levi
French. In addition, Jane French (age 23) was living in the home. She was
William and Nancy's youngest child. The census lists the neighbors as the Watkins
family, a well-known clan that had a large brick plantation

home in the LaCrosse community, east of Melbourne, the present county seat.
The Thomas J. French farm was probably between the LaCrosse and Franklin
communities of today.
