Emma,

You must have been thrilled to have this letter. I'm thrilled for you!

It reminds me of my gg grandfather, Peter Holder in Sevier County, AR. He
was a widower in 1901 and in 1980 I found a marriage license application
for him dated 1903. The license wasn't completed, so I didn't know if he
married the said Martha Martin or not and didn't know if I ever would find
anything else about it.

Then in 2001 a second cousin that I met over the internet came to spend a
week with me. Her grandmother was Martha Martin, so I asked about the
possible marriage. She assured me it wasn't her Martha, but just to be sure
she phoned a first cousin back in CA. His mother was 90 years old, but
still sharp as a tack. When he asked her about a possible marriage between
Martha and Peter her first words were "HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GUYS FIND
OUT ABOUT THAT?"

Bottom line was, the two had met and fallen in love and planned to be
married, but their children didn't like the idea, so the two cancelled their
plans.

This is just another story passed on to let you know we can find history in
the most amazing ways!

Ester
