Thank's for the address Betty Mc. I am the Great Great Grandaughter of the Bridges/Stroud union. Albert Gallatin Stroud and Matilda Frances "Fannie" Bridges were their names. I have recieved info pertaining to them that may help. Maybe someone knows why the Bridges were living with the Stroud's when Fannie was still a child. Interestingly she is listed as white. Can anyone answer why she would be living with the Stroud family at such a young age?
Thanks so much for all the help,

Speculation: Maltida was a member of the elder Strouds household in some capacity and he married her when his wife Elizabeth apparently died. Of course, Maltida would have been 14 in 1860 and, presumably living with her family. One possibility:

No family listed for Mr. Bridges.
It is noted that A. G. Stroud and family are residing in Izard County, Franklin TWSHP, Big Springs, in 1860.
