Hi all

I am helping a woman research her Indian roots and it has been some kind of fun - and successful; thus far. I do have a question for those that have researched European roots in the past, though.

May have found her Meyers family in Iowa and the parents in the 1870 household were born in Hanover. So, in 1870 - what country was Hanover? I realize I should probably know this - but, you know what?

I don't!

Anyone? Hanover?
