You are right. He had children befor he married Ann.
In writings from William Ridgway, Ann's second husband in email from the
ARIZARD Rootsweb mailing list sent by Peggy King Truesdell dated April
27, 2000:
". . . So, on November 18, 1877, I was married to the widow Ann
Montgomery. She was a good woman, though I made a mistake for we both
had children and no two sets of children will hardly ever agree. She
treated me well.

Don't know if this could be him or not. Maybe if Peggy Trusdell is out
there she can get us on the right track

8. House hold 51Family 51 Not sure that this would be our family.
