John Patrick Montgomery was born Sept 13 1856, near Day, Ark and
departed this life July 31, 1939 at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 18
days. Most of his youth and early life was spent there. He was married to
Tilitha Cumi Andrews in 1875. To this union were born seven children. Frank
Montgomery, deceased, S. D., U. P., T. E. and C. E. Montgomery, Mrs B. F.
Pinkston and Mrs H. M. Harber. Those living were all present except Mrs
Harber.
Mr Montgomery's wife preceded him in death by 17 years. He bore his
suffering patiently and said he was ready to go to mother and grandmother.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives. Left to survive
him are six children, 35 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host
of friends and relatives. Funeral services were conducted by P. S. Cooper.
