I have some information on these families. More on the Cunninghams than the
Tinnins (Tinnon), though.

I had been real interested in this branch of the Cunninghams, because of
their early Texas migration. I did not know what county in Texas that they
had removed to - so, your post gave me a place to start.

Their had been family stories passed down that one of Nathan Langston's
daughters that was married to a Hightower - who died young. Upon his death,
Patsy Langston Hightower supposedly remarried to a Cunningham and migrated
to Texas with him - leaving her children behind for her parents and
relatives to raise.

So, just a theory that I have wanted to explore.

Now, this Tinnin line intermarried with my Smothers family of Baxter Co.
All I had was that Josie Smothers (b1907) had married a Hugh Tinnin. Now,
oddly enough and where I got it is a mystery - but, I have that Thomas
Tinnin was the son of a Hugh Tinnin, also. So, for what that is worth and
quite possibly could be incorrect.

You say that he was the son of Azariah Tinnin?

I'd be interested in learning more about these Tinnins, too.

Do you have need for me to post what I have on Samuel Brainard Cunningham?
As I recall he was married a number of times, so what I have may not be all
too complete, but may give you a clue or two?

> I would like some information concerning the Mary Alice Cunningham who
married Thomas Tinnon in Norfork, AR on the 21 of Aug 1888. My document
states that he was the son of Azariah Tinnon and was born in Washington
County Ar in 1845.
> My question is about the Azariah Tinnon. Is he the same Azariah Tinnon
who married Amanda Wolf? I do NOT have a Thomas Tinnon as one of their
> This article says the couple divorced and she was found with her children
as head of a household in 1880 census. It also states that Thomas was found
on the same 1880 census as head of another household.
> Information is that Thomas remarried to a Mr. Lula Davis at Norfork on the
2 of June 1904 and subsequently died in 1937 and is buried next to his
daughter Irene in the Walnut Hill Cemetery at Cotter, AR.
> Other information is that Mary Alice married Samuel Hogue and moved to
pringfield, MO and had a third marriage to a Mrl Pearson. It states she
lived to be 93.
> Are there any kinfolk out there that would know about the parents of this
Thomas Tinnon? I don't know how he was overlooked if he belonged in the
Wolf database. I do not know of Azariah and Amanda Wolf Tinnon being in
Washington Co., where this person was born, but his birth date would fit
into the know children of the couple.
> Azariah and Amanda Tinnon left the Nofork area in 1867 and if Thomas is
their child, he is the only one of their children that did no move with the
family to Bell County, TX.
