This is some great Cockrum data - and I can tell you that there are a ton
of James B., J. B. Cockrums - and at times I have a hard time keeping them

This is one of the James Briant Cockrum and his first wife; Desdemonia
"Dessie" Merrill. She and James had one other daughter; Jessie in 1902 and
then it appears that he left her and married; Sallie Rider Whitekiller from
the Fort Gibson area of present day Wagoner Co., Oklahoma. I would bet that
there is an interesting story as to why Mr. Cockrum was at Ft. Gibson in
that time period. My understanding is that the area was a mecca for the

Lou York was actually Alonzo York; born 1884 to George and Helen York.
Their daughter; Lula York was married to Tillman Tipton - a brother to
Perry Tipton was married to my great aunt; Maude Pearl Smith.
