FYI only -- ("most of") the HORNs in Searcy County are descended from William HORN and wife Judy HICKMAN (do not have any stats on them).

Their child: Harmon HORN, b. abt. 1794, Rome, GA, d. abt. 1880. He married 1) Margaret BURKS, dau of William BURKS and Unknown McCRACKEN; 2) Widow Mary DEAN.

The family lived in Wileys Cove during the Civil War when a band of men came in to kill them. He was sitting in a chair, a daughter threw her arms about her father. The men told her to go away or they would shoot her, too. When she refused, they killed both with one shot.

Henry HORN (Howell3, Harmon2, William1) b. 19 May 1851, AR, m. Ruth Angeline KIMBELL, dau of William KIMBELL and Providence NORMAN. They had nine (9) children, some of whom are in SSDI records.

Information of about six pages on this family was constructed from the Searcy County history book, Coffman Funeral Records, 1937-1940, pp. 251-252, and SSDI records. This is not one of my families but I enjoy putting the information together.
