Hi,

About that "D." I wish I had the answer for sure. My Robert D. was the son
of another Robert D. My grandmother's (Mary Etta Reed Scholes) death
certificate says Robert Dennie. Her sister's (Allie Viola Reed Hightower)
says just plain Denny. My cousin, Walter Scholes, who was very young when
Robert D. died said he always referred to him as "Uncle Denny or Dennie."
In the book written by William Messick Gentry, he's called "Uncle Denny."
In that same book there is a reference to his family. His wife is called
"Matt," and there are three children listed as Mary, Alice and Jack..Alice
must be Allie Viola

I don't have any idea about William D., but just recently I ran across
something on the internet that referred to Henry D. as Henry Davis Reed. I
didn't save it because I was sure that I could remember where I found it.
I'm going to get a copy of Henry's marriage license, and maybe that will
give his middle name.

Kathleen
