The Maynards thats being discussed does anyone have info. on an
Earl Maynard ? He had a brother they called Ern short for Ernest I think.
Earl lived in Maynard Bend, and he had a grocery store and Post Office in
Gamaliel Ark. my dad's cousin Ivy Kirkland married Ern and they lived in
Weatherford Ok. I dont have any thing on them at all. My dad's parents lived
abt, a block down behind the store granddad ran one of the old ferrys on the
Northfork Lake for years, I used to go down and ride the ferry all day with
him, and when I got tired I would sit on the Gamaliel side of the lake and
fish for those big bream, but the ferrys are gone now and a thing of the
past, progress I guess.
