Payne - Pain - Paine or how ever you spell it.

1840 Marion County, AR
Pain, Joseph 30-40 TN
several children and wife that seem to match the ages of some in the 1850 census.
Joseph Pain paid taxes in Marion and Izard County 1832-1848.

In 1850 I found this family that I think is the same family

1850 Izard County, North Fork Twp

Paine,

Sarah 40 TN
Maldine E. 21 TN
Elizabeth 19 AR
William 16 AR
George 14 AR
June 12 AR (or Irene ?)
Thomas 9 AR
Joseph 7 MO
James Polk 5 AR
John M. D. 3 AR --twin
Sarah Texas 3 AR -- twin

I have information only on William and Thomas.
George head of house in 1860 Izard County and the twins were living with him.

1880 James K. P. Payne was living in North Fork Twp, Baxter County with his brother Thomas.
James K. Payne 50 married Annie Moody 40 on 12 Mar 1896 in Baxter County.
I "think" he may have gone to Pauls Valley, Garvin County, OK

enlisted 27th Reg Ark Infantry Company H (Izard County)
Payne
George W. 26 on Jun 14,1862
Joseph M. 19 on Jun 14, 1862
Thomas J. ?? on Jun 14, 1862
William H. 29 on Jun 14, 1862

All are listed as deserted Feb 29, 1864 but William
I was always told because they heard the war was over and went home to help with the crops and when it came time to muster them out they couldn't be found.

Thomas is my gr gr grandfather and I would love to find proof who his parents were or more on the other children. For some reason it has been easy to find information and descendants of his and William's but nothing on the others.

If you've reached this point I think you for reading,

Vera
