Chief Petty Officer Ralph E. Blankenship of the U. S. Navy, at home on emergency leave, was killed almost instantly Saturday night, when he was struck by a car as he was walking beside a parked truck on highway 62, a mile east of Yellville. Three other young men with him were injured, one seriously. Mrs Irene Crowell of Whiteville, Baxter County, is held under $1,000 bond for her appearance at a justice of the peace hearing set for May 7. It is alleged that she did not stop the car she was driving after it had struck Blankenship.
