Mrs Mollie Gentry Passes Away Wednesday
Mrs Mollie Reed Gentry, aged about 83, well known resident of this section for many years, died Wednesday night, at the home of a daughter, Mrs Elsie Byram, at Melbourne. Her death was not unexpected, as she had been in feeble health for several months.
Mrs Gentry was the widow of the late Leander Gentry, one of the county's best known citizens. Practically all her life was spent in the vicinity of Iuka. Following the death of her husband several years, she has made her home with her daughter at Melbourne. She was a most devout Christian and was held in high esteem by every one. She had been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church since early in life, and during her active years was an ardent church worker.
Surviving, are two sons, Messick Gentry of Texas and Harve Gentry of Missouri; four daughters, Mrs Elsie Byram of Melbourne, Mrs Leona Campbell of Wild Cherry, Mrs J. O. Rand of Rogers and Mrs Elmer Collins of Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, with Rev. D. R. Robertson of Mt. Olive in charge, assisted by Rev. Y. Whitfield of Pineville. Interment will be in Tremble Campground Cemetery, near Dolph.
