Hi!
I have an interest in this STOUT family, and would
like to swap notes.
My notes reflect that Benjamin Green STOUT's wife is
Mary Elizabeth FITZGERALD STOUT. She subsequently
married James KILLMAN in Indepedence Co., AR
5-11-1911. I don't know what happened to Benjamin
STOUT - does anyone else? Did he die, or did they
divorce?
Regarding their children, someone sent me the
following:
"Mark F. was an orphan that they took in in 1870,
after the mysterious disappearance of his father who
was also named Mark. I do not know who the mother was.
The other two children are orphans as well; we assume
stepkin of Mark F's, possible by a second marriage of
his father. There are two family legends; first, that
Mark F's father simply ran off(he worked on a
riverboat); the other is that they, the family, were
traveling by covered wagon in the Boston Mts. in N.
Arkansas and were attacked by Indians. The parents
were killed and the child was spared."
