Hi, Ann, I believe the Caroline Smith that is in the 1860 census married my
Hiram F. M. Jones (son of James B. Jones) that lived next door. The 1870
census had the Jones family back in Crawford County, MO and Caroline Smith
out of the house. I could not make a definite connection though. My
Ferguson McDonald Jones married Caroline smith and they had my grandpa, John
William Jones. Then he was orphaned young. Do you have anything on Jones on
the Smith side of your family?? thanks, Juanita
