man in the picture just might BE my Dad. The main problem I have is that he
is supposed to be from Yellville, and I know my Dad was from Cushman. I
found out that they are 87.5 miles apart, that's a pretty big difference.
I'm waiting to hear from my mother and uncle, to see if they recognize the
picture.

Like I said this picture was from my grandmother's picture box. I thought it
was one my Uncle George Lane had. He was in the Marines in San Diego and
died on Iwo Jima. I've been thinking this was not a picture found in his box
but in grannie's things. She had another son in WW II. I don't know where
William V. "Bill" Lane did his basic but I do know he was in the Army in
France. Was wounded in the shoulder and in a hospital for a while. (I think
Bill may have been in Washington state for a while)

Hope that helps figure out who this young Melton from Yellville is. He could
still be living. Thanks for sharing the other Melton picture with me.
