Hi Martha,
Mahalia/Mahala Montgomery was the daughter of James Riley Montgomery. James Riley was brother to my g-g-grandfather Hugh Porter Montgomery. James Riley is buried in Forrest Chapel, Izard County, Arkansas. I don't know anything about the Hess family though!
My son and daughter in law got stuck in that Ft. Worth ice storm. They were supposed to come home on Saturday but had to delay the trip home because of the weather.
