J.D. King

Funeral services for J.D. King of Searcy were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday,
February 16, 2002, at White County Memorial Gardens with Ed Matthews and Tom
Rhodes officiating.

Pallbearers were Dale Ellenburg, Mike Harrison, Charles Osborn, Vaughn Ball,
Steve Tidwell, and Robert Underwood. Jimmy King was an honorary pallbearer.

Interment was in White County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Powell
Funeral Home of Bald Knob-Judsonia.

BALD KNOB -- A graveside service for J.D. King, 85, of Searcy, formerly of
Mountain Home, was Saturday at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy. Mr.
King, who was a former Baxter County sheriff and game warden, died Thursday,
Feb. 14, 2002.
There are a number of local survivors.
Arrangements were by Powell Funeral Home Inc.

Sorry I didn't know about his death yesterday there might have been more in
the Searcy paper then.

J. D. King was at one time Sheriff of Baxter County.

A long time friend of my family for years. He once told me he knew me when I
was knee high to a grasshopper. The stories he could tell about my family
and the families around Baxter and Izard County.

Maybe there will be something more in the Calico Rock paper tomorrow.
