Don,
Did it give any year as to when he was appointed, if it had to do with the
ones moved on the "Trail of Tears", it would have been around 1838-39, I
guess ? I'm not sure I'm remembering the date correct. But do you suppose
that is the time period?
What we are trying to do is find some thing that would verify the facts we
were given of Major Wolf being in Missouri in 1809 or what was to become
Missouri , what he would have been doing there???
It's not quite coming together as he was in Kentucky in 1810, records do
prove that, land records in Arkansas show he bought land in 1824, he was in
Independence County for awhile before building the house in Baxter Co.
I'm wondering would he have been in 1809, in what was to become Missouri
and then gone back to Kentucky because he is found there in 1810, he served
in the War of 1812 out of Kentucky according to records found. Land grants
in Missouri were given to those who served in the War of 1812, which might
explain him being there after that, but the 1809 date we have been given
isn't making a lot of sense right now. Dorothy is still trying to contact
the person who gave Gwen the information and hasn't been able to as yet.
The lady with the info mentioned a Current River, do you know if it runs
through both Missouri and Arkansas?
Thank you,
Sandra
