The Haggard.ged has the below Haggard connections you are looking for.
Also between the Haggard.ged and Jeans' (and researchers) Mason data,
Lettice Mason, grandmother of America Haggard was the daughter of Daniel
Mason and Polly Brashear.
I am also showing two other America Haggards, one born in 1857, and another
born in 1885. Showing the above America from the Mason line born in 1847
Arkansas, Izard Co., Richmond. Might want to study these America's
closely, might even be more - these three are pretty close in birth.
In my data I did not show that Sarah Nancy Mason (md. Samuel Baldwin
Haggard) had the last name of Mason - I have Sarah Unknown. Very nice. On
your records saying America's parents were third cousins, looks like we
have yet another Mason connection.
Third cousins, hmm, see if I have enough knowns to firure where this Sarah
Nancy Mason came from. Samuel Baldwin Haggard (Americas parent -father)
was the son of Lettice Mason. If they were straight third cousins (coming
from the same directs), this would put Sarah Nancy Mason the great
grandaughter of Samuel Baldwin Haggard's great grandmother (through the
Mason line). Rats, that puts us with a Samuel or George Mason (on my old
data - three generations back from Samuel Baldwin Haggard.) But I am
showing four know descendants of this Samuel or George Mason. Oh my -one
is Jane Mason that married Ole James Jeffery - now I am excited. Sarah
Nancy for sure didn't come from that branch.
Nope, I cannot do it, not even speculate on my old data. Daniel Mason, son
of Samuel or George Mason, was the direct to Samuel Baldwin Haggard and any
generation forward from there would make 1st or 2nd cousins. It would have
had to have been one of the children of Samuel or George Mason to make a
third cousin. That is of course assumin when they said 3rd cousin they
weren't just sayin that to describe a more complicated connection - caused
by generations back from 3rd.
I am showing two other kids for this Samuel or George Mason - Nathanial and
Samuel - (besides Jane and Daniel (Daniel being direct to Samuel Baldwin
Haggard.) Looks to me like Samuel or George Mason should have had more
kids. Are their any known updates from my old data, Is it Samuel or
George(?), are there more kids, any more of the Mason line going back
further, is the grandfather of Sarah Nancy Mason known (Nathanial or Samuel
or other) ??????
Note: when I refer to Samuel or George Mason I am referring to the same
person. At the time I compiled this data (a long time ago -from other's
work), it was felt that his name could have been Samuel "or" it could have
been George -cannot recall the agrument. In light of the no "real" proof
of how it was, his name became "Samuel or George" Mason in a lot of
peoples' databases.
Thanks for that post, Chris. Definetly hits smack dab my data base. If
you ever do get it straightened out in this area please do post back a
formal conclusion. It seems to be pretty straight forward in this area -
what we have of it, quite a few holes though, but I don't recall any hard
core proof laying this area in concrete. I cannot recall if the late
Clinton R. Haggard (compiler of the Haggard.ged) gave any supporting docs
in his H-Files (a collection of docs/etc supporting his Haggard.ged)around
this America, but you might want ot check that out. The last I looked, his
Haggard.ged and H-Files could be downloaded at:

It's a very huge Haggard line, lots of our olden goldie surnames included-
crossing this Haggard line. I have found large chunks to be accurate to
the best that we know, but many have found errors. I rate it excellent
lead material - lots of leads.

And, America Haggard married a Kizzia. Interesting.
