Bernie:
Maybe your Lewis's were in Pope County; read the following:
Betty Mc
Harold:
Have been watching with interest your (and others) letters about the
Billingsleys/Lewis. Several years ago I made contact with a lady in Alma,
Ar. (Mrs. Lucille Beeson Tyson). Her great-grandmother was a sister to my
gr-gr-grandmother. Their maiden name was Beal. Morning Glory/Ann Beal
married my gr-gr-grandfather Robert Guthrie, Jr. in Giles Co., Tn. Her
sister Nancy Beal married John J. Morphis, also in Tn., and they moved to
Conway County, Arkansas. Were also in Pope County, and Yell County. But,
the point I'm trying to make is that in one of her letters, Lucille told me
that her husband (Johnny Tyson) was related to the Lewis family who married
into the Billingsley family. So I got my Izard Co. Hist. which contained
the Billingsley family in it, and made copies and mailed it to her. She was
so thrilled and said it helped the Lewis researchers so much. Lucille died
a couple of years ago, but her husband (as far as I know) is still living in
Alma, Ar. Someone there might be able to help on the Lewis line???
Betty
