Rosemary,
Yes, it is a typo probably caused by not being familiar with the Judges "F" and T" as written. All other places say Tutt. I also noticed on one version that they referred to us at the EVERTS and not EVERETTS. They are a different surname familiy just like Chris Evertt the tennis player.
Now, I just need to find A document that shows the father-son relationship between John Everett and his father, Jeremiah. Two of the Everett brothers--John Saunders and William Haney Everett--seemed to stay in the background in this War. You very seldom see their names mentioned except as one of the brothers from KY. Are there any records in Little Rock which might help me out besides the tax records? Like Land Grants or petitions?
I was also interested in the preacher being from Bowling Green, KY which is very close to where the Everetts came from in Glasgow which is in Barren Co. Now, that I know about this it would seem like Jeremiah would join the church again especially this late in life. Is there perhaps some records or a cemetery connected with the church?
Thanks.
Eleanor
