Bernie,
When you find more of your Smiths from Lee Co Va and if you come
across a Gemima Smith, let me know. She married Nimrod Shepherd about
1800. They are my direct ancestors. They moved on to KY. I've never
found her origins. She may be from NC since that is where the
Shepherds were from. I know they were in Lee Co VA with a lot of the
other Shepherds. I have a lot of Smiths, but don't see the connection
yet and I don't see any Yeary's in my line. One line of the Shepherds
& Smiths (John Uriah & Elizabeth Smith Shepherd) came to AR so, I am
following the Smith discussions eagerly <g>.
