Nancy,
I noticed you are looking for a Wm. R. Martin from
Fulton Co. My great grandfather was James Henry
Martin. His mother was Emily Vaughan Tucker Martin
(Later married Amon Burns). I am searching for the
father of James Henry Martin. James Henry was born
Oct., 1865. Emily was Mrs. Tucker in 1860 and Mrs.
Burns in 1870. James Henry had no full brothers and
sisters that we know of. Emily died in 1879 and James
Henry was raised by his grandmother, Martha Patsy
Vaughan, and an uncle, Geo. Washington Vaughn. My
grandmother, Lula Martin Cooper, did not know her
grandfather's name. According to census records James
Henry was born in either AR or MO, depending on which
one you look at. The same is true for his father.
But Emily lived in Fulton Co. in both 1860 and 1870.
Could there be a connection to your Wm. R. Martin?
Vivian
