Well, wouldn't you know, after I signed off, I discovered that Sarah A. KING,
the mother of Louisa L., had another marriage to an unknown TOMLINSON. SO,
if she was born of a previous marriage, the first wife of William Josiah
"Bill" RORIE may have gone by SELPH, but may have been a TOMLINSON. My
information was pieced together from the Goodspeeds article, with the census
record. You can see that the census records are consistent for Sarah A.'s
age (45 in 1880; 65 in 1900). She is eight years older than her husband in
1880 census and twelve (???) years older in 1900.

Bernie, you may be able to get some clarification on this from the person
that sent the RORIE information to you. Louisa L. could have, actually, been
a TOMLINSON and they never knew. Stranger things have happened ...

You can see from the census record--if correct--that George W. SELPH would
only have been 14 years of age, if Louisa L. was born in 1857.

You can see that I couldn't be sure of Louisa L. SELPH's age in the above
census. Maybe you've clarified that for me. If her mother was 45, perhaps
she was from a previous marriage or relationship.
