William J. Hightower
Born 10-21-1920-Died 1-3-2001
William J. Hightower, 80, of Sidney, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 3,
2001 at White Rive Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. He was born October
21, 1920 at Sidney, Ar. to Golden and Ethel Stroud Hightower. He was
retired from the Sharp Nursing Home at Sidney, a farmer; an Army Vereran of
World War 11, a member of the VFW at Evening Shade, the Widows Son Masonic
Lodge #611, at Sidney, and a member of the First Baptist Curch at Mtn. View,
Ar.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Hightower of Evening Shade, Ar, Mackey
Hightower of Sidney:one daughter, Janie Morgan of Brockwell; one brother,
Allen Ray Hightower of Sidney: one sister, Neola London of Sidney: 11
grandchildren; one great grandaughter; several nieces and nephews; and a
host of other relatives and friends;
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lovra Brewer Hightower;
three brothers; Prentice Hightower, Euell Hightower, and Hubert Hightower
and one sister, Dena Fay Hightower.
Services were Saturday, January 6, 2001 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in
Cave City, Ar. with Bro. Noble Wiles officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul
Cemetery located at Sidney, Ar. with arrangements under the directions of
Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ar.
Pallbearers were Con Battles, Jeff McKenzie, Chris Smith, Chan Nailey, Tim
Battles, Dusty Westmoreland and David Herrington.
Honorary pallbearers were Dean Mynatt, Bill Westmoreland, J. B. Stroud, Roy
Mynatt, Cecil Sherrel and Reese Bray.
