Sharron,

Some of the family says our India's name was just that - India. But will we
ever know for sure? Here is the death notice that was put in the paper.
Her name is listed as "India" but Ambrose is shown as a "Senior" and he
wasn't - unless that was to distinguish him from Jeffery cousins named
Ambrose. Betty

From the Izard County Register, A newspaper of Melbourne, Izard County,
Arkansas, extracted and submitted by Vera Reeves:

“Died: Near Mt. View, Sunday March 6th, 1898, Mrs. India Jeffery, wife of
Ambrose Jeffery, Sr., aged 56 years.”

Evalyn,
Did you notice the Indianna Hays for Edmund D. Hays Its the same spelling
as
Thomas Hays daughter name.
At one time I thought we had it all straight out that Edmund daughter name
was India Anna Hays and Thomas was Indianna Hays . I guess here we go again
on the spelling of the name
