Bill,

I have some more information on Harmon B. Clinton that I am going to have to
look for. I will let you know when I find it. He was married once prior to
Martha Frances Estes and had another family. He was born in Missouri in
1825. There have been a couple of articles in the Salem newspaper about him
in the last year concerning his role at the Union Baptist Church. Dorothy
Schultz of Jot-Em-Down has the church records that tell more about his
character and some actual quotes from him. He was also married once after
Martha Frances Estes died in 1891. His four children by Martha were my
gr-grandmother, Mary Minerva Frances Clinton Taylor (1869 - 1944) , wife of
William Franklin "Frank" Taylor; Lydia "Nettie" Clinton Taylor (1872 - 1936),
wife of Steve Taylor; Emma Clinton Reid, wife of George Campbell Reid; and
Samuel David Clinton (1880 - 1943), who married your Helm relative.
