We may be crossing paths again!!! I, too, am searching in Jefferson
County - for Evans and Hartley. What names are you searching for? The site
I have relied on is:

As you will see, www.usgenweb.com is nationwide and is a good place to start
researching any location. If other on the List have more suggestions, I
sure would like to know, too.

I will be in Little Rock this week and plan to come home by way of Pine
Bluff - just to get the lay of the land, locate the library, and maybe find
the 1880 homestead. Since my 7-month-old granddaughter will be with us, we
won't be doing any research.
