Hi Everyone!
I am a descendant of Nathan Langston and Patty Weir who came to Izard Co.
around 1819 with Nathan's brothers, John, Absolom, Jesse, and Samuel. We
have Nathan's line all documented thanks mostly to the efforts of Tess Harper
and Kathryn Langston who really tied these brothers to Caleb and Elizabeth.
I am now trying to find the parents of Patty Weir. She and Nathan were
married in Cahokia, IL on Aug 14, 1812. So I always look at all the Jeffrey,
Weir, and Ware messages hoping to find something new.
Friends in Liberty, MO., where we live, want me to join NSDAR. I can
prove a line on Dad's side, and I am going to try to use the Langston line as
a supplemental line. It will be interesting to see if they accept all our
documentation, but it seems sound to members here in MO.
I have to admit that I am now an addict so far as tracing my roots are
concerned. I have about 15 notebooks of data on as many of my branches. But
I am always excited when I can add just one name. And more than anything, I
enjoy the new friends I have met along the way.
