Beth,

I sent a message to Nancy Pratt Melton re: The Milton Village. Until all of
the emails, I didn't know it even existed! I'm rather new at this and very
much uninformed! I suggested to Nancy that the conflict needs to get
national attention rather than contacting a few public officials. They will
"go with the flow" unless there is a national media blitz. Unfortunately, I
sent the message and then deleted it or I would send it to you. My
suggestion was that SOMEONE out there either is, or has a relative who is, a
member of the national press and appealed to that someone to see that AP,
Reuters, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. be contacted and maybe, if we're lucky, someone
who could get public notice, would act on our plea.

I'm all for perserving our heritage. I'm sad to say that "big money" usually
wins out. BUT, we have all seen what can happen when the American public
unites in a common cause. It's unfortunate that "most time" we are all
apathetic!

My hope is that there will be someone there AT ALL TIMES watching the
excavation of the project should it get approved. Just ONE artifact will
put a "stop" to it. Or at least put it on hold until something can be done.

So, LIST, if YOU, or someone you KNOW, is a member of the press.....call
them and get the ball rolling.

Evalyn
