Sharron,

India Anna and Nathan Hamby Melton had four children.
Claudie Marvin...died at one year.
Twins Jeffie and Jessie. Jessie ( male or female?). Jessie died at birth
Chester Earl was my grandfather.

Jesse N. Melton was the younger brother of Nathan Hamby Melton. He is the
one who provided the affadavit for Nathan to prove his identity for his
application for pension.

The handwritten birthdates lists all of Joseph and Margaret Lacewell
Melton's children in
Joseph's own hand.....

Jesse N. Melton born April 24, 1848
Nathan H. Melton born December 17, 1845.

There certainly were a "bunch" of Jesse's in the Melton families, weren't
there. I don't know if the twin Jessie is male or female yet but the
spelling with the "ie" makes me think that it might be a girl. Really meant
to try to find her grave site at Old Philadelphia but my Mom just wasn't up
to it! Am gonna check when I go back and the weather is cooler.
