Marion E. MELTON, female, born 10 Oct 1854 in Hickman Co, KY to Joseph and Mary MELTON.
J.D. MELTON was in Co A 8 ARK INF during the Civil War, he served from Aug 1861 to May 1865. On his pension application in 1901, has his age as 74 and 78, address - Newburg P.O.,Izard Co, AR. He has rheumatism of hips (rheumatism, all joints being involved, more or less). Ca?????? of nose, throat and senile. He signed the application J.D. MELTON (his x mark), but one page has his name as Joseph D. MELTON. He was allowed $50.00 on 21 Aug 1901, witnesses were L.M.STROUD and F.M. GIBSON.
