Evelyn,

It is hard to describe when you can do "one more thing just for that one you
love so much" , I am glad you had the courage and love to sing for your dad.

Subject: [ARIZARD-L] Thanks For All Your Prayers

Thanks List!

I really did appreciate all the prayers that went up.
Yes, it's been difficult but as the songs says..."I
get by with a little help from my friends"!

The people at Methodist Hospital in Henderson Kentucky
are among my favorite people. Especially all the
nurses and doctors in ICU. They were absolutely
terrific.

They called me at 10:30 on Sunday evening and I was on
the road by 11:00. I hadn't even unpacked my
suitcase...just threw it in the car and took off.
Drove till 2:00 in the afternoon and thanks to all the
efforts of everyone in ICU my Dad was still there when
I arrived. Bless his heart....he really put up a good
fight but the injury was just too traumatic for his
system. All his major organs failed and he passed
from this life quietly.

My Dad was a "character" and I use that in the
funniest sense of the word. Everyone in the area knew
him and I think that most of them came to visit him in
the ICU unit. Many of the nurses said that he had
made their life just a little better and that made me
feel good.

Ernest Clifford Waggoner left this life just the way
he would have wanted. He was doing what he loved to do
and would be thrilled that he made the front page of
the local paper.

When I was a little girl and singing all over
Kentucky...he told me that he wanted me to sing at his
funeral. I said, "Daddy, how could I sing at your
funeral? I can't sing if I'm crying!" His reply, "if
you love me you'll sing at my funeral". I did love him
and I DID sing at his funeral. It certainly wasn't
the easiest thing that I have even done but with the
help from God above, I sang like I've never sung
before. I think that he would have been proud.

I feel very fortunate to have the good fortune to know
truly caring people...like all of you. I'm still in
Kentucky but now have a computer to access all of your
messages....There were 633 messages on my Yahoo mail!
Needless to say, I did a LOT of deleting.

God Bless You All.

Evalyn (My new email in Ky is (I think!!!)
