Dear Sisters,

I write you these few lines to let you know that I am well, ever hoping
these few lines may find you all enjoying the same blessing of health. I
have nothing of interest to write to you, only I have got to camp one time
more, as the Rebel Army is across the Arkansas river and everything seems
to be quiet at present.

Lt. Wakefield got a letter from Captain Akard the other day. He is getting
about well, and pap was well and would be here as soon as the captain could
be ordered up.

I think I would of been home in a few days, though furloughing is played
out again, though I suppose Morris Company is at Greenfield and I think
that Radford can get home long enough to gather the corn, if he could it
would be a very good thing.

I want you to write as soon as possible. I have not had a letter since I
left home. I have been afraid that something is the matter. Nothing more
only remains your brother until death.

Thomas J. Divine
