Hi Jean,

I have been writing to Bob Randolph, we share the common ancestor who died at
Cross Hollows. Cross Hollows is in Benton Co. in Northwest Ark. It was the
site of the Union army camp in Feb.-Mar. 1862, before the battle of Pea
Ridge or
Elk Tavern (Mar. 7-8, 1862). William Ware of Izard Co. died at Cross Hollows
of Disease 24 Feb. 1862, His Brother Jehoiada Jeffery Ware was captain of
Co. G
Phelps' Mo. Inf. William, Jehoiada's step son Brown Wyatt, Samual Langston
and
Martin Young were all members of this Company. I believe these are all Izard
Co. residents who fought for the Union in the Civil War (these were just
names I
recognised from my family, I am sure there were others). Phelps's Infantry
was
for a term of six months enlistment mostly from Dec. 1861 to May 1862. The
Films for Phelps's Regiment are 1500927 and 1500928 these give an alphabetic
list of "all" of the volunteers and officers.
